Dr. Richard Berry is a Wyoming native and grew up as a ranch kid. After coming to the Lord in his senior year of high school, Richard knew needed to connect with people because of their eternal value.
While attending UW, Dr. Berry met Bonnie, the love of his life. They were married in 1973, just after he received his undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Wyoming. Dr. Berry went on to get a Master’s degree in counseling psychology, from Denver Seminary, and earned his doctoral degree (Psy.D.) in counseling psychology from the University of Northern Colorado.
Dr. Berry worked at Youth Alternatives as a family counselor, clinical supervisor, assistant director and director for 35 years. He learned a tremendous amount from working with families. During this time, he and Bonnie raised three children and now enjoy four granddaughters.
After Dr. Berry retired in 2021, Pastor Galen asked him about providing counseling services at Cheyenne Hills Church and Dr. Berry jumped at the opportunity.
Dr. Berry is a licensed psychologist through the Wyoming Board of Psychology. He is also a licensed marriage and family therapist through the Wyoming Board of Health Professionals Licensing Board.

- Short-term solution focused
Cheyenne Hills Church has provided support, encouragement and other needed services for people who are impacted by suicide (Surviving Our Suicide – SOS) and for those who have lost loved ones through the GriefShare Curriculum. Additional structured support has been provided for parents (Parent Con) and youth. Counseling services are available for members and regular attenders of Cheyenne Hills Church.
