Our History
Cheyenne Hills Church began in 1992, when the Rocky Mountain Baptist Conference determined to start a new church in Cheyenne. That decision was based on a demographic study that found 20,000 people in Cheyenne did not attend any church, making it the largest unchurched community in the state of Wyoming. Dick Young moved here to lead the new church after having successfully planted a church in Lingle, WY. We began as a small group of 30 meeting in a home and began Sunday Services on January 4, 1993. We moved to Laramie County Community College (LCCC) in April 1993 and held our official grand opening October 31, 1993.

After growing to three weekend services and beyond the capacity of LCCC, we embarked on the journey to a facility of our own. Twenty-three acres of land on the east side of Cheyenne were purchased and construction of the facility began with a tremendous commitment of the church family. We moved into the new facility in August 1999, by Easter 2001 we had completed the west wing expansion to accommodate the rapidly growing Children's Ministry. Today, with three weekend services and an average attendance nearing 1,000 we look forward to where God leads us for the next phase of our story.
