What to Expect:
THREE WEEKEND SERVICES:
Saturday night service at 6:00 p.m.
Sunday morning services at 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
All services are identical and are approximately 75 minutes in length.
DRESS: At CHC, our worship services are casual. There’s no need for a coat and tie, unless that’s what makes you comfortable. We believe in letting people be themselves before God and others. Although, we don’t recommend coming in your pajamas, unless you’re just running really late.
ENVIRONMENT: Our lobby is designed so you can feel comfortable meeting new people or connecting with an old friend. We always have coffee and other beverages as well as refreshments available before and after each service to make everyone feel more at home. A Guest Services center is also located in the lobby where you can feel free to ask questions or get more information about Cheyenne Hills.
THE PEOPLE: Expect a warm and friendly atmosphere; upbeat and inviting. Don’t worry about anyone putting you on the spot. We want you to feel free to explore Christian community in a non-threatening way. You will be greeted by someone at the door and ushers are available to help you find a seat in the Worship Center.
THE TEACHING: It’s not preachy, but you can expect it to be BIBLICAL and PRACTICAL. On any given week, we speak from the BIBLE on how to implement God’s plan into our lives, and we aim toward RELEVANCE. Typically, we use a MESSAGE SERIES in our worship and teaching experiences. Message Series vary from topical series such as those on marriage and family issues or personal financial management to series on the life of Christ or a certain book of the Bible.
THE MUSIC: It's really modern and energetic. We want you to feel free to sing, clap your hands and express yourself in worship. The drum set on the stage is a dead giveaway. While we love to embrace new styles of worship and even use popular songs you know to illustrate a point, we also believe in bringing in the best of worship tradition and recapturing those songs in a modern way. If you like bass and drums, you’ll like CHC.
DRAMA/VIDEO: It’s not the kind of drama you might think—nobody in cheesy biblical costumes (usually) and the video is aimed at being instructional but relevant. Don’t be surprised when you see a clip from your favorite movie used to help teach a point from the Message Series.
CHILDREN’S MINISTRY We have an outstanding Children’s Program for Nursery through 5th Grades EACH WEEK at CHC during our two Sunday services- Saturday service does not have a Children's Program. Our goal is that your kids will love it and be excited to come back week after week! The first weekend of the month we offer a FAMILY PRODUCTION where the whole family is invited to the Kidzone area to learn together.
STUDENT MINISTRY: We also have an outstanding Student Ministry for 6th grade through 12th grade students EACH WEEK. Junior High students (6th-8th grades) meet on Sunday evenings from 6-7:30 p.m. at the church for a high-energy time designed just for this season in their lives. Senior High students (9th-12th grades) meet during the Saturday evening service from 6:00- 7:17 p.m. at the church for their own worship service while the adults are in the main worship service.
COMMUNICATION: It is extremely important for us to be able to make you aware of happenings at Cheyenne Hills. Every week a program is made available at our weekend services highlighting announcements, we also regularly update our website, send out reminder emails, run announcement loops on our TV's in our lobby, and we provide our regular attenders with access to the Unifyer.
